This past week (February 2017) members of Wake and District were lucky to play alongside The Piano Guys at performances in Asheville and Charlotte, North Carolina. The tune we played was “Fight Song – Amazing Grace”.
“When the fights of our life grow to fierce, we can turn them over to grace and let grace do the fighting for us. And that’s what this song is about…” -Steven Sharp Nelson
The story behind The Piano Guys is miracle. They claim to just be a bunch of ordinary “guys” playing classically influenced instrumental music in videos that showcase incredible locations. There are so many coincidences that the summation of each circumstance transcends “happenstance.”
Like the Piano Guys, we do not take credit for our successes. We cannot. And nor can we. To do so would defy reason. We thank God, our families, and the people who support us by enjoying music which inspires, uplifts and make the world a better place.
There is nothing “ordinary” about the Piano Guys. These “guys” make everyone around them happy. Their music is a source of joy, inspiration, and fulfillment. We are forever grateful for the opportunity to play alongside them.
Have you ever noticed that unplanned events — chance occurrences — more often determine your life and career choices than all the careful planning you do? A chance meeting, a broken appointment, a spontaneous vacation trip, a “fill-in” job, a newly discovered hobby — these are the kinds of experiences — happenstances — that lead to unexpected life directions and career choices.
Luck is no accident. Thank you to band mom Lisa Markowski for simply sending an email to a guy named Frank a year ago…
Thank you as well to our 4 pipers and their families for allowing them to spend a few days away from home to be a part of something AMAZING. Thank you to Roddy MacLellan for getting us quickly setup with B flat chanters.
Stay in the fight. Be Amazed by Grace.
