A Consistent Drumbeat.

Well, this has been an unbelievable year – and we’re not quite done yet. As we’re navigating through these last few days -- I’ve got to tell you – as I think about the last 12 months I think while it has gone by quickly, sometimes a little bit longer than much we’ve really achieved so much. With so much - with so many different variables and so many different moving parts.

And I'll say it again, I've said it before -- I've never been more proud to be with this organization -- I've never been more proud to be a member of Wake and District.

Thank you for your incredible work. Every single one of you plays a part. 80 strong. Outstanding work this past year! You continue to invest. You inspire new possibilities. You push the boundaries of what we do.

There's a consistent drumbeat, success that continually highlights who we are and what we do; and I think we continue to come together as a band.

It's hard. It ain't perfect. But we still are improving and getting closer and closer together. I'm proud of what you do and how you do it. I'm excited about our future. I like the hand that we have.

We're continually improving, and driving, and transforming this organization - from what was just a public safety band to something much more broad -- focused on music, the mission, and the moments we serve. Moments that we deliver -- that you deliver. That strengthen the intersection between music and mission

Whether it’s the competition circle in Chicago. Or a Christmas parade in Clayton. Whether it's fire department promotional ceremony in Raleigh, or a graduation for the Highway Patrol, or at a cemetery in Warrenton for a fallen hero. We connect with our public safety partners, our community.

The people we serve NEVER see how hard you work. But they know -- they know they can depend on the gift you provide.

We answer the call. We serve the moment. We stand for our fallen.

When words fail -- music speaks. THIS is what makes Wake a special place and unique place to play.

Take time to care for yourself.

Recharge. Reflect. Rejuvenate.

Have the happiest and healthiest of holidays.

I look forward to seeing you in the new year

Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything you do -

· for making our organization great

· for serving our community

· and committing to make yourself

· and those on either side of you better

I appreciate you.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and take care.
