On Saturday, March 14th the band traveled out of town at the request of the North Myrtle Beach St. Patrick’s Day committee to participate in the local St. Patrick’s Day parade.  On the Friday before the parade we met at Calli Baker’s Firehouse Bar & Grill (a local fire department pub) and played a few tunes and commiserated over the bleak weather forecast for the parade.  Early the next morning we participated in the parade (the rain held off) and were honored to be the first band in the parade positioned at # 29.  The band was lead on parade for the first time by Drum Major Jason Lane and assisted by band family members carrying our banner.

Thank you to all the band members and their families for taking the trip 3 hours from Raleigh to represent Wake & District at the 21st Annual North Myrtle Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade – and a special thanks to all those who drove and carpooled to help ease transportation logistics.  Photos by band photographer – Véronique McMillan – can be seen here.
