A simply brilliant St. Patrick’s Day 2012 weekend was had by the members of Wake & District. We shared in the shenanigans with family and friends who joined us as far as the boardwalk of Myrtle Beach, to the streets and shores of North Myrtle Beach and back home to Raleigh to play in a few of our favorite pubs (all in less than a 24 hour period).
Tir Na nOg hosted a Paddy’s street party the likes of which Raleigh has never seen before; led by Annie Nice and the tri-colors of Ireland – the band took the street for a second Raleigh St. Patrick’s Day parade down Blount Street and put on a wee concert in front of the pub the evening of the 17th.
To every band member who participated, every family member who came out to support us, all of our old friends and so many new friends – THANK YOU. We hope everyone enjoyed our gift of music, heritage and camaraderie.
To all of our new band members who kilted up for the first time – WELCOME to the circus. For those new friends joining…we can’t wait to have you!
