lanOn Saturday, 18 May 2013 band members participated in the 53rd Annual Scottish Games in Fair Hill, Maryland.  Both the band’s G4 and G5 took the field at the Fair Hill Race Track against a myriad of fantastic bands.  Several of our solo members landed solidly on the boards – John Lovett with a FIRST PLACE in solo bass, Jean Russell with a 2nd in solo tenor, Garret Justice with a 4th in his march and Ken McKeveney, Seamus Russel and Jacob Egen also representing with solid performances.  As for the band competition circles…our Grade 4 group took 3rd overall with rankings of 1,1,4,7 while our G5 landed in the middle of the pack at 6th with rankings of 6, 6, 4, 9.    Be sure to check out our Facebook feed for a few hundred photos captured by band member Antonio Raynor…  We also celebrated band member Alan Armstrong’s birthday at the games — HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALAN!!!

Kudos to the games organizers (particularly David Baliff) for putting on a great weekend; this was the band’s second year at the games and we are looking forward to 2014!

We will never lose our optimism — “tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther . . .” – we will continue to expend all of our energy in pursuit of our goals.
