Home / Band News / shape our legacy…

Playing in a pipe band is a journey — and you can never go at it alone. The significance of your band tenure is defined by your complete body of work. As such, it is the culmination of the work you do — which shapes your legacy.

Raleigh’s Wake and District pipe band is looking to add players to our rosters to continue to shape our legacy. Know this — we’re nowhere near where we’ll end up.

We field 3 competition groups; Grades 5, 4 and 3. Our competition program is under the direction of Pipe Major Ken McKeveny and drumming instructor Tom Foote; both professional level players and EUSPBA judges. Our G3 lead tip is Billy BC Gehringer, who also plays with the 78th Fraser Highlanders Pipe Band.  We are always adding new members — seeking musicians who can contribute at these levels and who are prepared to make a commitment to the band on and off the field.

If you are interested in becoming a part of our program — tell us, ask us questions. Music is currently available upon request. If you wish to become a part of our group – do not hesitate to contact us. Local and traveling players welcome…

Band members take great pride in all our endeavors and realize there is always a higher level of excellence to be won. We strive to be humble and grateful for our members, our collective talents and the opportunities we have to perform and grow and flourish as an organization.
