RFD Fireman's BallThe festivities surrounding the Raleigh Fire Department’s centennial anniversary came to a close on Saturday, 17 November 2012 at the Raleigh Convention Center where a Fireman’s Ball was held. Nearly 1,600 men and women have served the Raleigh Fire Department since 1912 and 2012.  Events marking this historic celebration included a Retiree Luncheon, an Anniversary Celebration/Parade and the Fireman’s Ball were just a few. The members of the Wake & District Public Safety Pipes and Drums are proud to be a part to the rich heritage and tradition of the Raleigh Fire Department. We have three RFD members in our band – Captain Joe Harwell (RET), Captain Lloyd Johnson and Lieutenant Jason lane – all founding band members.

Congratulations to all the past and present members of the Raleigh Fire Department on your historic celebration – we look forward to being by your side during the next 100 years…
