Wake & District Public Safety Pipes and Drums to participate in 7th Annual North Carolina Fallen Fire Fighters Foundation (NCFFF) memorial march and service

 
The NCFFF memorial march and service honors fire fighters who have given their lives in service to the community and recognizes their families

 
Raleigh, North Carolina / April 30, 2012: On Saturday, May 5, 2012, the Wake & District Public Safety Pipe and Drum band will take part in the 7th Annual North Carolina Fallen Fire Fighters Foundation (NCFFF) memorial march and service in downtown Raleigh at historic Nash Square. The event will honor fire fighters from across the state who died in the line of duty during 2011, serving the citizens of their communities.

 
“Wake & District Public Safety Pipe and Drum band is honored to be part of the 7th Annual North Carolina Fallen Fire Fighters Foundation Memorial March and Service,” says Joe Brady, Wake & District Pipe Major.

 
“This event means a great deal to our members and supporters because our mission is to honor our comrades who have given their lives in service to our communities. The memorial march and service is one of the best examples in our state of how we can pay tribute to those who have died serving us all.”

 
The NCFFF event on Saturday, May 5 will begin with a memorial march/parade at 10am, followed by the memorial service at 1pm. Wake & District is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Band members and supporters raise all funds for musical equipment, uniforms, transportation and band-related costs. The band was formed in 2006 at the North Carolina Fallen Fire Fighters Foundation Memorial March and Service. A group of public safety professionals who attended the event were looking for a way to honor their fallen comrades.
