The band would like to extend condolences to the North Carolina Highway Patrol. On Tuesday, September 9, 2008 a state Highway Patrol trooper died three hours after his cruiser was involved in a wreck. The wreck occurred on Ten-Ten Road near the intersection of Old Stage Road in Wake County. Trooper Andrew Stocks died at WakeMed at 1630 hours date. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends and co-workers of Trooper Stocks.

RALEIGH – Trooper A.J. Stocks, age 43, was killed when his car collided with a garbage truck today on Rural Paved Road 1010 in Garner at 1:36 p.m. Trooper Stocks was transported to Wake Med Hospital and died as a result of his injuries.
The State Highway Patrol Reconstruction team is investigating. The patrol car collided at an angle with the truck and the point of impact was on the trooper’s driver side door.
Trooper Stock joined the North Carolina Highway Patrol in April, 2004. His most recent assignment was Raleigh.
Commander Walter J. Wilson said, “My thoughts and prayers are extended to Trooper Stocks’ family. The patrol is feeling the loss of one our own, one who lost his life serving the citizens of the state.”
Trooper Stocks is the 60th trooper to die in the line of duty since the formation of the Highway Patrol in 1929.
Trooper Stocks grew up in Wake County where he graduated from Cary High School in 1983. He leaves behind a wife, Liane Stocks, and a child.
