Pipe Band Tenor Drumming; be seen and heard…

Raleigh’s pipe band – the Wake and District Public Safety Pipes and Drums – is seeking folks interested in being seen and heard through the art of Scottish Tenor Drumming.

What is Scottish Tenor Drumming?  It is playing a mid-section drum (voice) within an ensemble drum corps of a pipe band.  Tenor drummers are the only members of the band who provide movement — a unique visual element which bridges the music of pipers with the snare drummers.  “Flourishing” brings additional depth and interest to performances.

What we are looking for in you:

  • Some experience with music; instrumental, vocal or dance
  • Willing to fulfill the band’s mission of honoring fallen public safety officers
  • Be part of a growing and competitive tenor corps
  • Compete in solo and band endeavors at highland games
  • Participate in shenanigans while wearing a kilt
