On Wednesday, 16 May 2012 law enforcement officers, families and the public gathered outside the Progress Energy Center to honor the courage and sacrifice of Wake County’s 19 fallen officers at the fourth annual Wake County Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. The ceremony, which was planned by representatives from the Raleigh Police Department, Wake County Sheriff’s Office, Cary Police Department, Morrisville Police Department, Wake Forest Police Department, and the State Highway Patrol, is an annual event to remember those who lost their lives in the line of duty while serving Wake County.
Established in 2006, our program honors those who sacrifice their lives to serve others; FOR OUR FALLEN is everything we stand for. For the 4th year in a row, Wake & District was honored to send one of our pipers to participate in this service honoring all those who serve and all those who sacrifice.
