Home / Band News / Continuum of growth…

jimmyA big thank you to Annie Britton Nice and all the wonderful businesses around Moore Square in Downtown Raleigh — for hosting the TASTE OF BLOUNT STREET AND CITY MARKET on Saturday, July 20th.  Wake-District Pipe-Band was honored to be a part of this event sharing our music and merriment.  To all our band members, family members and friends who came out — and stayed out all day helping sell water and soda – we can’t thank you enough.  It was truly a fun filled family day with cultural diversity.

Yesterday was also a day a firsts for several new band members….  Joining us for the first time in the circle were side drummers Jimmy Clark, Laura Okagaki-Vraspir and Jeffery Rogers.  Timothy Hinson also joined in on the merriment on his pipes.  As evident by our roster — Wake & District continues to grow.   The continuum of our growth is based on our members, and we have been fortunate over the past 7 years to have so many success-driven  like-minded musicians join our ranks.

WE CANNOT READ MINDS. If you want to become a part of our group – do not hesitate to contact us.   Our teaching programs are thriving, and we continually focus on cultivating new players including interested young people, as a means of keeping the art form alive.
