On Saturday 10 June 2017 members of Wake and District participated at the Blue Knights NC II International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club Officer Down Memorial Ride. A memorial service was held at the North Carolina State Highway Patrol Training Center in Raleigh where a wreath was presented by Colonel Glenn M. McNeill of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol – and NC Blue Knights II President, Doug Greene.
… as we honor their memory today, let us pledge that their lives, their sacrifices, their valor shall be justified and remembered for as long as God gives life to this nation.”
We love the words valor and honor because they are such powerful words that evoke emotions of respect. And respect is exactly what those who sacrificed deserve. Both those who have passed away and those who are still living and still sacrificing so our American Flag can continue to stand for Freedom. May we live our own lives worthy of their sacrifice, may God bless each of you, and may God bless the USA.
The BLUE KNIGHTS® are a non-profit, fraternal organization consisting of active and retired law enforcement men & women who enjoy riding motorcycles. Our primary activity is getting together and riding our motorcycles – through that love of riding we have several rides each year to raise money for local charities and scholarships. We also travel to other chapters’ rides to support our Blue Knight brothers in their fundraising efforts.
The Blue Knights is a family fraternity. Spouses and children often accompany our members to the various rides and functions. When traveling, local members can provide assistance, directions and sometimes a place to stay. We truly are a family. Among the Blue Knight members, “There are no strangers, only friends you haven’t met.” .
