“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” ― Charles Dickens
…not quite the case for a Tuesday night with Wake & District!
For almost 30 years Duke University has been welcoming visiting students from Glasgow University (Scotland) as part of their undergraduate degree program. On 16 October members of Wake & District had the privilege to help mark this anniversary participating in an evening of festivities which included some fine haggis.. Kudus to Harry Nicol for putting on a wonderful evening, the Scottish Organization of the Triangle for helping to have Wake & District included in the evening faire – and thank you to our members who helped provide a little bit of Scotland in Durham on a Tuesday night.
On the other side of the RDU triangle band members took the stage at Tir Na Nog welcoming the Tannahill Weavers. It is simply amazing the Weavers have been on stage since 1968 and their spark is shinning brighter than ever. Roy, Phil, John and Colin put on a brilliant show and while we were honored to open up for them – it was more fun to sit back and enjoy what they do – play great music >> truly one of the most versatile groups on the Celtic music scene.
A Tuesday night in North Carolina…the best of times.
