“Nicely Done” to the members of Wake & District who traveled to Scotland County, NC for the 2nd annual Scotland County Highland Games. While the competitive field for Grade 5 was small – the District played fairly well and came away with 1’s across the board. It wasn’t the best day for the band with instrument malfunctions and membership maladies but we came together, marched into the circle and played the pipes and drums together quite nicely.

Thank you to all the band members who came out – and to our family and friends for their continued support of our competitive endeavors. Special thanks to our quartermaster – Lloyd Johnson who showed up with his family and even marched in massed bands for the first time (albeit in the wrong uniform shirt << only the quartermaster can get away with that). Kudos to Jacob Egen who competed solo and placed SECOND in Grade 4 solo drumming << we are very proud of how hard you’ve been practicing Jake! Here is a video of the competition from the Armstrong clan...additional photos to appear shortly.
